基因組多樣性和演化
物種通過其基因組多樣性所決定的表型多樣性而适應不同的環境。了解生物适應性的自然規律和遺傳基礎,對于生物演化和多樣性的研究至關重要。我們利用現代遺傳學方法,重構物種在種群水平的演化模式,推斷演化過程,研究與物種的表型、行為、種群曆史和系統分類等相關的基本科學問題。目前的研究主要側重于以分子生物學和種群遺傳學為基礎,結合傳統生态學、生物地理學和系統分類學的背景,研究野生及馴化哺乳動物類群尤其是貓科動物的基因組多樣性和适應性的遺傳學機理,具體體現在以下研究方向:

基因組多樣性和演化實驗室成立于2009年,以貓科動物基因組學和保護生物學研究為核心,具備分子生物學和生物信息學幹濕實驗綜合實力。實驗室建有生物樣品庫及數據庫管理系統、古DNA超淨平台、基因組數據處理計算服務器等硬件設施;在高通量數據分析、動物基因組組裝與注釋、群體基因學、基因與性狀關聯性分析、連鎖遺傳定位等有豐富的數據分析經驗;且能有效開展分子生物學、生化和細胞水平的功能實驗。
